Gretchen Lentz

Gretchen grew up right here in the Vail Valley and began skating at the age of nine. She is a Skating Club of Vail Alumnae and has been a member since she started her competitive skating career at age eleven. She has also trained at facilities across the country including Palm Beach Ice Works in Southern Florida, and Ice Centre at the Promenade in Westminster, Colorado.  

Gretchen is the 2018 Nine States Intermediate Excel Ladies’ Champion, a three-time National Showcase qualifier, and a 2017 National Showcase Competitor. Gretchen is also a USFSA Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field and is currently training to earn her Gold Medal in Solo Pattern Ice Dance. Gretchen is a member of the Professional Skaters Association.  

Gretchen is a 2023 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado where she studied Business Marketing and spent three years on their Figure Skating Team. Outside of Skating Gretchen enjoys hiking, skiing, and enjoying everything that Colorado has to offer. 

Gretchen’s goal as a coach is to pass along her passion and love for figure skating to skaters of all levels and help instill in them the important skills and lessons the sport has to offer. She is available to coach lessons in Basic Skills, Free Skate, Moves in the Field, Ice-Dance, Showcase, and Power-Skating.
