Professional Membership
The Professional Membership is for coaches who teach on SCV’s club ice. Coaches must be registered, background checked and CER compliant in accordance with USFSA requirements. They also must be a member of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) and hold a liability insurance policy. PSA membership and Proof of Insurance must be on file with SCV. Members of this class who are 18 years of age or older may vote in SCV’s general elections, and may serve on the Board as a coach representative.
New Coaches wishing to join the Skating Club of Vail must provide the Board with a resume and professional references. Upon receipt, the applicant will be interviewed by an SCV coach and a Board Member prior to being accepted to coach.
Annual Rate: $70.00

Registered with PSA
SkateSafe compliant
Background check compliant
CER - 4 per year
Liability insurance
All the above paperwork must be provided to SCV Board
Expectations of all SCV Coaches:
Available for private instruction to club members
Available to teach SCV Classes
Available to assist with SCV special events including, but not limited to, the Vail Invitational, Winter Ice Show, Skate Camp(s), test sessions, etc.
Billing members on a monthly basis or sooner for any amounts due
Accept all forms of legal tender or provide a 1099 to the Club & clients
Invoicing SCV on a monthly basis for any amounts due (i.e. class instruction)
Benefits:
U. S. Figure Skating membership
May coach on SCV’s club ice
No Pro fees paid to SCV (pro-fee may still be required by Dobson Ice Arena and/or Mountain Recreation)
May choose Skating Club of Vail as their home club.
Coaches 18 years of age or older may vote in SCV’s general election
May serve on the board as a coach representative (may not hold any of the top five officer positions) and, if so, coach’s home club must be SCV
