SCV Classes for the 2025-2026 Season have concluded.

dUE TO The Renovation of Dobson Arena, SCV will not be offering any classes or freestyle sessions* for the 2026 spring & Summer sessions.

We will wrap our season with our annual ice show at the eagle pool and ice rink on april 11th & 12th and hope to see you there!

standard SCV programming will resume this fall at EPIR!

SCV CLASS CATALOG

ASPIRE-ADVANCED CLASS

The Aspire & Advanced class is designed to support skaters progressing from the upper levels of Learn to Skate through the advanced figure skating levels in USFSA. This class offers tailored instruction in small groups to meet each skater where they are. Class topics will vary by week but may include:

  • Edges, Turns, & Gliding Moves

  • General Skating Skills

  • Spins

  • Jumps

  • Power

  • Skater Etiquette

Class Structure:

Skaters will be divided into 2-3 groups based on level and skating ability. Some weeks, skaters who are on the cusp of a level may be moved into different groups depending on the specific skill being taught, ensuring the best possible learning environment for everyone.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Learn to Skate Level 5 or higher; or with approval of Skating Club of Vail coach

ARTISTRY, MOTION, & MORE

Artistry, Motion, & More is designed to help skaters bring their skills to life by blending technical ability with creative performance. Skaters will explore how to add artistic expression and style to edges, turns, gliding moves, jumps, spins, and other skating elements. Instruction will include working with music through edging and turn patterns, learning to combine steps and transitions, and developing the ability to tell a story on the ice. The goal is to enhance both skating quality and presentation, giving skaters the tools to perform with confidence, fluidity, and artistry.

*Prerequisite: Successful completion of Learn to Skate Level 6 or higher; or with approval of Skating Club of Vail Coach

Theater on Ice

Theater on Ice is a high-energy, club-favorite class that blends skating skills with storytelling, choreography, and performance. Skaters learn how to connect movement with music, develop expression and character, and skate as a unified team to bring a theme to life on the ice. Each session culminates in a final performance, giving skaters the exciting opportunity to showcase their hard work for family and friends.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Learn to Skate Level 5 or higher; or with approval of Skating Club of Vail coach
