Frequently Asked Questions

Can my skater do a solo AND a duet or trio with friends?
Absolutely!  Skaters may do up to 2 numbers, provided they are done in collaboration with their coach and approved by the Show Director.

Can my skater do only a duet or trio, or must they do a solo?
Skaters are not required to do a solo.  They may perform whatever they wish, provided they are done in collaboration with their coach and approved by the Show Director.

What if my skater does not have and individual routine - can they still be included in the Showcase?
Absolutely! All SCV Members can still join us for the Opening and Closing numbers.

Is there an added fee for each number (solo/small group) that my skater wants to perform?
No – the $150 covers all fees to perform.

Is there a theme we need to consider when selecting music?
No – we want skaters’ personalities and preferences to shine!  However, music still needs to meet the approval of skater’s parents, coach/Show Director and be within the allotted time limit.

What should my skater wear?
Skaters can wear their own costumes/tights for solos or small group numbers.  If they will be doing multiple numbers, we recommend a nude/black leotard for quick changes.  SCV will provide additional apparel for group numbers that can be worn over their solo/small group costumes to avoid additional costume changes.

My skater is not currently registered for Theater on Ice, but would like to still join for the Showcase.  Is this possible?
Yes, provided they register and begin attending class by JANUARY 19, 2022.  Please contact the SCV Board to register as online registration has closed.

My skater only wants to do Theater on Ice.  Is there an added fee to be in the Showcase?  Do I need to sign up?
No – your class fee has already covered your participation in the Showcase. It is also assumed that all TOI participants will be joining us for the Showcase, so no need to sign up again..

Can non-members be in the Showcase?
Only Theater on Ice is open to non-members, and you must be registered in the class by/before January 19th. Please contact the SCV Board to register as online registration has closed. All other performances are only open to SCV Members.

My skater wants to be in the Showcase but cannot attend the Friday rehearsals.  Can he/she still participate?
Yes – your skater is welcome to still perform a solo, duet and/or trio.  Please contact the SCV Board to determine fees for their participation.  (This will not count towards the required 12 skaters we need to run the Showcase, though).

We have a conflict and will miss one of the rehearsal dates.  Is this an issue?
Rehearsals are considered mandatory and we ask you make every effort to attend. If necessary, you may address the SCV Board directly to approve any absences.  There will be no refunds/pro-rates for missed rehearsals. Skaters will be excused for illness.
